If you like having the latest and greatest, then refurbished is not for you. However, if you don’t mind minor cosmetic damage, and the fact that someone else has used your laptop, then you may want to consider purchasing a refurbished laptop. But why would anyone want to purchase a refurbished laptop as opposed to a brand new one? In this article, I will tackle this very issue, and give 3 reasons why you should own a refurbished laptop.

If you have ever looked around at the prices of laptops, you probably understand that the more features a laptop has, the more the laptop will cost. Many manufacturers charge additional money for added memory, extra space on the hard drive, or even a battery that lasts long. The best thing when it comes to buying a cheap refurbished laptop computer is that features could be yours for a price that is so much cheaper than a new laptop computer might cost you, even the cheaper ones. Used is always a great deal cheaper, because many people are not willing to pay new prices for something that someone else used before them. Therefore, now you can get a laptop computer cheap.

Most companies offer a minimum warranty of six months. It varies with the policy of the manufacturer. Extended warranty up to two years can be availed from some retailers. Refurbished laptops must be selected according to the purpose of the laptop. The reputation of the manufacturer is a major factor. The cost and warranty also has to be evaluated while selecting.

Since you’ll be spending a lot less money on the computer itself, you can afford to spend more upgrading it with newer, and better components. For example, you can add memory to speed it up, or upgrade to a larger hard drive. You should, of course, make sure that your computer can support these upgrades before you even purchase it. If it can’t, then look for one that can before making your final decision.

Refurbished laptops are renovated faulty laptops whereas used laptops are the resale laptops. Refurbished laptops are usually rebuilt by the manufacturer. They upgrade the facilities of the laptop to the present market conditions. Used laptops are often just polished by the reseller before resale. They cannot provide the technical excellence of the refurbished laptop.
