It is this silicone adhesive which allows them to be used at extremely high temperatures and still not lose any of their adhesive qualities.

However, to ensure that they stick to the surfaces properly it is advisable that you make sure the surface is completely clean. Therefore it is a good idea to wipe the surface of the item with warm water and mild detergent to remove any build up of grease, dust or debris on it. Then allow the surface to dry fully before you actually apply the adhesive tape to it.
